Problem: The customer needed a parts feeder system that would move bulk parts into position in the correct orientation for pickup. These parts were prone to be scratched or damaged in a normal bulk feeder. They needed an automated system that could handle bulk parts, but was gentle on them as they were moved into position.
Solution: Fortville designed a live-belt, pre-feed hopper system that placed the parts in a vibratory feeder bowl. This feeder bowl was lined with a Brushlon material to prevent scratching of the parts. The inline track was constructed using an Acetal polymer and Brushlon material. The Acetal is a friction resistant material used in place of metals when handling sensitive materials. As the parts moved down the inline track, they were presented in the correct orientation for pick up.
