Problem: A customer was building an automated system and needed a parts feeder to supply plastic parts on demand to their robots. The system used two main lines to supply parts, backed up with two secondary lines.
Solution: Fortville Feeders designs and builds customized parts handling solutions. For integrators who need an automated parts feeder that supplies parts continually, Fortville has designed their proprietary waterfall tooling system. The system operates with a main line and a secondary, backup line. If there is a jam on the mainline, the backup line feeds the robot without any hesitation in production. In this case, the two main lines were filled with parts first. When they were full, the secondary lines were filled. This kept parts running continuously, but it also allowed the integrator to build a robotic vision system that could assemble the parts at varying speeds. Production could be increased or decreased without changing the settings on the parts feeder. The robot pulled parts off the end of the line and the feeder automatically refilled the lines. The parts feeder was synced to work with the customer’s robots.
If you are looking for a continuous supply, on-demand parts feeder, Fortville Feeders builds engineered solutions for parts handling integrators.
